  • Regional municipality of Wood Buffalo voted in support of a motion take steps to reduce reliance on camp accommodations in Fort McMurray. Concerns are expressed that this would discourse investment from energy sector players.

  • National Energy Board releases its reconsideration report to the government of Canada in accordance with the September 2018 Order in Council. If the project is approved by Cabinet in the 90-day deadline to approve the project, the company must comply with 156 conditions in the reconsideration report. Cabinet is expected to extend this deadline.

  • British Columbia's Attorney General action against the Alberta's Attorney General was struck for being premature. The BC's AG commenced the action after Alberta enacted a bill to restrict the export of certain products to BC. The bill was never proclaimed into force. A gentle reminder to check your proclamation dates of recently enacted bills.
